Thales provides a complete range of navigation systems for the civil aircraft market, including flight management and global positioning systems, flight controls and integrated flight displays. These offerings achieve accuracy in accordance with the most stringent standards and give pilots the necessary tools to make the safest decisions possible.

Thales developed the Air Data and Inertial Reference Unit (ADIRU) navigation function to provide the operational information, altitude and position necessary for aircraft guidance in all flight phases (in flight and on ground taxiing).

Airbus selected ADIRU as a vital component for the A350’s navigation system. Due to the high performances of this navigation function, the A350 XWB will be able to bring airlines to a step beyond that of RNP 0.1 (the most stringent aeronautical navigation standard).

Thales’s navigation solutions provide airlines with the capability to realize substantial fuel consumption reduction and be much more environmentally friendly – once again highlighting Thales’s drive to innovate for the needs of tomorrow.
